The Nigeria-Canada Trade Expo 2023 will feature a dynamic program that includes keynote speakers, panel discussions, workshops, and other events. Topics will cover a range of subjects relevant to the Agriculture, Aviation, Education, Energy, Technology and Innovation, and Mining. Here is a glimpse of the schedule of events:

This presentation would explore the opportunities and challenges of Nigeria’s mining sector and how to attract investments and drive growth in the sector.
Q & A Session
Nigeria’s mining Sector boasts 44 different types of commercially viable minerals worth an estimated $700bn according to the estimates of Nigeria’s Solid Mineral Development Fund. However, limited capital injections, inadequate geo mapping tools and widespread illegal mining have left Nigeria struggling to capitalize on its reserves.
Amid the global push for green energy solutions, Nigeria’s reserves of critical minerals such as Lithium, Manganese and Nickel are in high demand.
Canada is recognized as a leading mining nation and home to some of the world’s largest mining Companies.
The minerals sector, which includes exploration, mining and related support activities, primary processing, and downstream product manufacturing, is a mainstay of the economy that supports jobs and economic activity in every province and territory.
There is significant potential for collaboration between the Nigeria and Canada with regard mining.
The 7 Nigerian priority minerals identified by the Ministry of Mines Nigeria are: Iron Ore, Bitumen, Limestone, Barite, Gold, Lead/Zinc and Coal.

Alternative Energy Overview
Nigeria is endowed with abundant energy resources, both conventional and renewable, like wind, solar, biomass and hydropower which can potentially provide the country with a sufficient capacity to meet the ambitions of both urban and rural Nigerians of a full, nationwide electrification level. Yet, Nigeria has one of the lowest consumption rates of electricity per capita in Africa. With the demand superseding the generation, there is inequitable access of rural communities to the electricity service in the country.
